California

A few weeks ago I went with 2 good friends from Nursing school, to our friends wedding in sunny CAlifornia. She got married in the San Diego temple, and had a dinner cruise in Newport Beach. It was so much fun! We got pedicures and manicures with the Bride, went to Hunington Beach, Newport Beach, San Diego and Sea World. The beach was so nice, we had great 80-90 degree weather. Sea World was really fun! I haven't been to Sea World since I was a kid, and I still love it! Nicole's wedding was wonderful, the San Diego temple is as beautiful inside as it is the outside! I had such a fun time, but I didn't get enough beach time so you better believe I am planning a beach vacation for the Winter or Spring!

Sea World, I loved the Shamu show! I love Orca whales!

SUMMER 2009
After getting home from Europe in early June, another great part ofJune consisted of a Girls Reunion in St. George that was so much fun with all my cousins, aunts, sister, mom and grandma! We do it every year, and have such a good time, swimming, shopping, eating and going to Tuachon theatre! I will post a few pics- we also made spray paint shirts, so much fun!

The whole crew! The Shaum family girls!

Tuachon theatre! We saw Annie and I thought the hat was fitting for the 1920's-1930's! Benson and Izzy being silly! Benson likes the hat also!

July consisted of a lot of paper writing, clinicals, more papers, journals and more to turn in to graduate with my Bachelors in Nursing, of BSN. I did BYU-Idaho's online program and petitioned to do it in 2 semesters, and lets just say Jan-July has been a blur, my house has suffered, my cooking and experimental cooking suffered, and just about anything you can think of suffered because I was glued to my computer, writing papers, journals, doing quizes, and doing more clinicals in the ICU, following a Pediatrician and a PA and doing clinicals in my community! Let's just say I am very happy to have accomplished such a feat, in so little time! I am glad to be done, but the second it hit home to me that I was actually done with school- all I could think about is going to more school! School is all I know since I have done it for 18 years of my 24 years of life! I really do love to learn, and have been thoughtfully considering getting my Nurse Practitioner degree- we will just have to wait and see what becomes of that thought!

Dave and I did manage to fit in some fun, as soon as I graduated! We went with our good friends Braden & Lindsay to Bellevue & Seattle Washington! We had such a blast! I love Seattle! We saw a Mariners baseball game, went to Pike's Market Place, did tons of Shopping!!!!! The shopping in Seattle is amazing! Can you say capitol of NORDSTROM!!!!!!!!!! If you can believe is Dave bought the most out of the girls and Braden! It was bizarre, and I was in shock the whole time! Dave's sister also got married in July, it was a great day and we are happy for Kathy and Blair!

Heading to the San Juan Islands!

Kathy's WEdding!

August will consist of even more weddings as we have 3 to attend to! My cousin B got married and seriously had the reception of a life time! It was an amazing outdoor pink, orange and green, pool side reception! My cousin Ryley gets married in a few days, and I'm sure it will be fantastic, and then my good friend from elementary, jr. high (Spice girl days) and High school gets married in a week! I look forward to all the August weddings and the 2 I have in September! I just got back from the Heber Valley camp with my moms Relief Society, and had a blast! I love and miss my old ward! The Heber Valley camp is amazing and I highly recommend it to everyone!
This summer has gone by way too fast, I can't believe kids are going back to school all ready! I loved boating this summer, spending time with family, traveling, being outside, going to weddings, and whatever else I did this summer! As much as I love summer, I also love FALL!

FALL means COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!!! My dear parents bought Dave & I season tickets to the U of U, and I really can't wait! I also love fall weather, it's the perfect weather to curl up to on the couch and read a book! I love the beautiful changing leaves, and the crisp air! Running in the fall is the best! Especially in the wonderful Ogden Valley! I am excited to finish out summer and welcome fall. I will post more pictures when I can!

Switzerland-Berner Oberland

We have been back from our month long European Vacation, and I have yet tackled posting pictures on my blog or facebook. We only have like 2500 pictures! Here are some pictures of our stay in Interlaken and Gimmewald Switzerland. This area of Switzerland is AMAZING! It's the Swiss Alps on Steroids! We had to take a cable car to Gimmewald, which is about 5,000 ft in elevation!

The mountain town of Gimmewald!

The fresh water trough the town uses, Alp water is amazing!

Me by the town playground, and the cable car station.

We stayed at the Mountain Hostel and had a blast! We met a bunch of friends from Washington, North Carolina, Georgia and Canada. We even met up with some of the people we met after Switzerland in Italy!

Look how clear and beautiful the water is! You can see straight thru it! It's Glacier water.

Dave and I went on a hike to Trummebach Falls, he's holding the Swiss flag! The valley below is the Lauterbrunnen Valley.

A picture from the Cable car riding up to Gimmewald, you can see all the valley below.

Dave hiking to Murren. Murren is where the only grocery store is on the mountain, and it's a 45 minute up-hill hike from Gimmewald.
Sprutz waterfall. This was a beautiful, crazy hike. We hiked for an hour straight up hill, I'm serious this hike had the highest inclined trail I have ever hiked. It was so worth it though!

Dave & I at the top of Gimmewald, making our way down from the Sprutz waterfall hike. Unbelievable views seen up here!

Another picture from the Sprutz waterfall, you can walk under it to the other side. It's crazy though because you are level with a very high alp on the other side, that told us how high we really were!

Gimmewald is unbelievable, I would go back there in a heart beat! There are no cars, tons of goats, and we had fresh yogurt- that was unreal!

This is the trail the switchbacks through Gimmewald, I'm pretty sure that speck of a person is me and Dave is way a head of me!

These alps are called the Eiger, Monch, and Jungafrau. They are huge and famous. We watched avalanches happen on their cliffs, which sounded like Thunder, it was insane!Overall Switzerland was a hit! We stayed at one really nice hostel in Interlaken, and the Mountain hostel in Gimmewald. We met lots of nice people whom we are planning a Europe 2019 trip with. They think because Dave & I are LDS that we will be bringing out 6 plus children with us, but I'm not so sure about that. If anyone wants to go to Switzerland or any of the countries we visited let me know and I will give you some good tips and tell you about great places to stay, visit and where to eat! By the way it was actually warmer here than when we were in Paris, we had great weather here!

Here are some photos of Paris. The Louvre, Arc de Triumph, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Palace of Versailles. We loved Paris, there are many more pictures, we took 800 in 8 days while in France- other pictures will have to come later, like Normandy, my favorite.

The Eiffel Tower

Paris, Normandy

We made it safely to Europe. I am trying to post some pictures here instead of sending them seperately in an e-mail to my family. Paris was much better the second time around, I absolutely loved it, even better was visiting the sites of D-day, (Utah and Omaha beach, Point du Hoc, the battle for the causeways, The American cemetary and much more!)- Visiting these sites, happened to be a dream that came true. It was unbelievable, I am so thankful to the many young men who lost their lives trying to liberate others, believing in freedom. Right now I am writing from a hostel in Switzerland, this is our first hostel stay and we had the whole 6 bed room to ourselves, it's pretty posh, free internet, free breakfast, it looks like a nice hotel, not a hostel. We shouldn't have come here because I am sure we won't have such luck in places like Rome! We have encountered only kind, wonderful people, all those who said the French don't like Americans, or are rude to Americans, they are wrong. Especially in Normandy, they love the Americans, they liberated them from the Germans! Even in Paris, they were helpful and kind.

Never mind on the pictures, we can't get it to work, maybe later.
